George Perez Superman sketch

Con sketch George Perez did for me, 10 years ago. He asked me what character I wanted… I couldn’t decide…its George Perez. Anything will look good. I asked him to choose. He wasn’t having it. He pressed me, gently, for who my favorite character was. He wanted to draw me something that meant something to me. I ended up picking Superman, of course.

I saw some of the other sketches he did that day… Many, many Supermen. Not one was a duplicate. He put as much love and care into this one simple sketch as he did the hundreds he did that weekend, and the thousands he did over his many con appearances.

It was a short interaction, but I think about it a lot.
